Position Overview

Gemma Power Systems is seeking a full-time Commissioning Turnover Coordinator to join our team in Glastonbury, CT. The role involves leading the turnover process, adhering to project schedules and drawings, and ensuring all systems are commissioned safely and efficiently.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

  • Leads the turnover process, ensuring adherence to QIP-19 and CQP-17 requirements.
  • Identifies system boundaries and ensures construction teams understand system assignments.
  • Screens and validates construction turnover documentation.
  • Participates in meetings and leads turnover-related meetings.
  • Maintains and distributes the project punchlist, including walkdown organization and discipline updates.
  • Maintains effective communication with various stakeholders.
  • Utilizes insights to provide recommendations on commissioning strategies and operational issues.
  • Conducts commissioning activities according to safety policies, manufacturer guidelines, and company standards.
  • Collects and catalogs supplier TFA reports, ensuring closure of open items.
  • Maintains and uploads all required commissioning turnover documents to the electronic document archive.
  • Develops and maintains equipment inspection and maintenance logs/reports.
  • Supports the OJT of client personnel.
  • Participates in Gemma's process improvement program or lessons learned.
  • Produces daily activity reports as required.
  • Oversees craft labor in commissioning support activities.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commissioning experience with power plants, renewable energy projects, and/or large-scale industrial facilities.
  • A 4-year degree in engineering or another construction-related field is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and understand project schedules, P&IDs, and electrical onlines.
  • Previous experience in leading system walkdowns and punchlisting.
  • Experience in overseeing system turnover.
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for excellence and initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Extensive travel, including time at project sites and manufacturer shops.
  • Comfortable with standing or moving around in a heavy construction environment.
  • Exposure to loud noise, rugged or uneven environments, and varying weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
