Commissioning Specialist
About the Role
Lead and perform commissioning activities for building systems, including utility infrastructure, mechanical and plumbing, and building automation systems. Manage all phases of the commissioning process, including QA/QC, functional performance testing, and equipment/system start-up. Ensure projects meet established design requirements and stakeholder expectations for operational performance and efficiency.
Participate in both onsite and office-based commissioning activities for new construction, renovations, and asset management projects. Collaborate directly with clients, stakeholders, and contractors, hosting meetings and managing client relationships. Apply knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, and TAB process mechanical testing and code requirements, with a focus on mechanical/plumbing discipline and buildings/healthcare-related projects (not petro-chem or electrical exclusive).
May require travel up to 50%, including multi-week and long-term field assignments. Preference for candidates with commissioning certification and multi-year job commitments. This is a temporary-to-permanent hybrid role based in Houston, TX.
