About the Role
This role involves working closely with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project completion and customer satisfaction. The candidate will be responsible for hands-on experience in liquid treatment process technologies, participate in factory acceptance tests, lead site acceptance testing, and perform various commissioning tasks.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on experience in liquid treatment process technologies for customers in both industrial and municipal applications, such as reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), Membrane Bioreactors (MBR), media filtration, chemical dosing, UV, screens, etc.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at an H2O manufacturing facility.
- Lead Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and organize treatment system start-ups at customer project sites.
- Review H2O equipment installations and compare against relevant drawings; conduct pre-commissioning inspections and check to verify integrity of installation and readiness of water treatment equipment for startup.
- Be the main onsite resource for any customer questions about the application.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, process and control function testing and troubleshooting of equipment such as pumps, UV, blowers, instrumentation, valves, control hardware.
- Execute startup procedures and conduct performance testing to verify compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, working collaboratively with engineering and operations teams.
- Perform optimization and maintenance of equipment (such as chemical dosing systems).
- Provide operating advice and train how to perform minor repairs.
- Interact with customers and engineering consultants.
- Provide classroom and hands-on training to owners and operators to support operations and maintenance.
- Make adjustments to PLC, HMI and VFD programs.
- Provide detailed technical summaries, commissioning reports, operating procedures for internal and client review.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines throughout commissioning process.
Requirements
- Relevant technical site experience (for example, testing and operations experience) including design, construction, and commissioning, as well as good IT and analytical skills.
- A relevant degree in Science/Engineering or a Technical Certificate in Instrumentation, Controls or Programming and/or Water Treatment Operations.
- A Technical or Vocational Degree in Industrial Mechanics also acceptable.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Must be available to travel unrestricted in both USA and Canada - 80% of the work requires traveling.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- A basic understanding of water treatment processes, equipment, and technologies.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (MSExcel, MSWord, PowerPoint, MS Office Project, MSOutlook).
- The ability to meet all customer site access requirements and maintain a high degree of behavioral safety in all aspects of work.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills.
- To be autonomous, resourceful and meticulous.
- To provide excellent customer service.
- Knowledge in various PLC programming software (Asset).
- Experience in and knowledge of a variety of UF, RO, MBR technologies, chemical dosing kits, pumps, compressors, blowers, instrumentation, valves, screening systems, cartridge filters, etc. (Asset).
