Commissioning Senior Superintendent, Data Centers
About the role
The Commissioning Team at Fluidstack is responsible for standing up a Cx program for 50GW+ of DCs this decade, developing plans for Cx and QA/QC for first-of-a-kind modular data center designs, and driving development and implementation of automated L4/L5 commissioning. The role involves owning the field commissioning program across all MEP systems on hyperscale data center projects at 100MW+, leading every commissioning phase from pre-functional testing through functional performance testing and Integrated Systems Testing to owner acceptance, and running high-stakes client meetings with confidence.
Responsibilities
- Own the field commissioning program across all MEP systems on hyperscale data center projects at 100MW+
- Lead every commissioning phase from pre-functional testing through functional performance testing and Integrated Systems Testing to owner acceptance
- Own startup and energization sequencing for chillers, dry coolers, FCUs, pumps, HVAC, switchgear, UPS, generators, and BMS/EPMS
- Own the six-week look-ahead and constraint log, surfacing and resolving upstream constraints before they hit the schedule
- Run site meetings with clients, consultants, and trades, presenting commissioning status, risk, and recovery plans
- Travel at least 50% to project sites
Requirements
You've owned large-scale commissioning programs from mobilization through owner acceptance as a superintendent on hyperscale data centers at 100MW+. You have deep mechanical commissioning expertise on chillers, dry coolers, FCUs, pumps, cooling towers, and HVAC in redundant live environments, plus enough electrical and controls command to lead integrated MEP commissioning. You've worked the owner's-rep or client side, so you anticipate owner expectations and interpret acceptance criteria before gaps become schedule impacts. You command six-week look-ahead scheduling and visual planning tools (takt boards, zone maps, pull planning), and you know energized-work safety and OSHA in mission-critical environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commissioning and/or operations of data centers
- Experience with commissioning of chillers, dry coolers, FCUs, pumps, cooling towers, and HVAC in redundant live environments
- Experience with electrical and controls systems
