Commissioning Project Engineer, AMER-West ACx
About the role
The Commissioning Project Engineer (CxPE) supports the delivery of data center capacity through managing project milestone auditing, calibration, and commissioning execution for new construction and Capital Improvement Projects (CIPP). This position is part of a career development program aimed at developing the CxPE into a Commissioning Engineer (CxE) through a three-phase mentoring program.
Responsibilities
- Develop a detailed understanding of AWS critical infrastructure.
- Work with different team members to introduce you to internal project management tools.
- Progress to the on-the-job phase where you will participate in on-site commissioning activities.
- Support the Lead Commissioning Engineers (CxE) with managing a project from beginning to end.
- Manage the creation of projects within internal Amazon systems.
- Manage the administrative tasks related to the commissioning process.
- Support the Request for Quote process, ensuring all relevant documentation is available for the commissioning vendors to provide a detailed quote.
- Manage the required vendor project deliverables ensuring on-time delivery for the CxE's review.
- Manage project resourcing ensuring all vendors comply with the Leads Qualification Process (LQP).
- Create and manage the approval of the Change Management requests for the commissioning activities of the assigned project.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 2+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
- 2+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Qualified trades personnel in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline.
Qualifications
- Manage the creation of projects within internal Amazon systems and administrative tasks related to the Cx process.
- Manage project resourcing ensuring all vendors comply with the Leads Qualification Process (LQP).
- Create and manage the approval of the Change Management requests for the commissioning activities of the assigned project.
Skills
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for up to 80% of the year.
- Ability to manipulate small wires and objects easily.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment.
- Ability to work in environments that are colder or hotter than a normal office environment.

Pay
Base salary range for this position is $96,000.00 - $166,300.00 USD annually.
Schedule
Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
