Duties
- Commissioning Management & Execution
- Oversight of Level 1–5 commissioning reviews and execution
- Ensuring testing validates performance against specifications
- Development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of internal commissioning standards, procedures, SOWs, and NETA standards
- Participation in system integration testing to ensure seamless operation across all critical systems
- Project Management & Coordination
- Support commissioning activities, scopes, and stakeholder communications throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaboration with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers of record, internal stakeholders, commissioning authorities (CxAs), and vendors
- Implementation of CoreSite commissioning guidelines and support CxAs in integrating commissioning activities throughout design and construction workflows
- Direction to commissioning teams and acting as the primary escalation point during testing and issue resolution
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Review and standardize commissioning scripts, including templates for critical equipment, to ensure system testing meets industry standards, owner requirements, operational criteria, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Drive quality control measures for testing, inspection documentation, and issue tracking for continuous improvement
- Documentation & Reporting
- Development and maintenance of comprehensive system for tracking and storing commissioning documentation, including test results, reports, and as-built records
- Representation of the owner in project commissioning meetings, communication of commissioning progress to internal stakeholders, and alignment and engagement throughout the commissioning lifecycle
- Management of commissioning scope definition and CxA procurement while ensuring effective onboarding, documentation management, and reporting for third-party commissioning teams
- Promotion of innovation and continuous improvement in commissioning processes and tools
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, with occasional on-site presence
- Flexibility to travel up to 40%
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, control systems, and building automation systems (BMS/EPMS)
- Experience performing or overseeing Level 3–5 commissioning for critical infrastructure
- Proficiency with commissioning and QA/QC software tools (e.g., CxAlloy, BIM360, Facility Grid, Procore)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-team coordination skills
- Strong project management capabilities including planning, scheduling, and reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Building Services, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in data center commissioning, QA/QC, construction management, or mission critical environments
- Commissioning certification from a recognized industry authority; PMP considered an asset
- Experience working with third party CxAs and data center development programs
- Occasional standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, talking, and hearing
- Occasional lifting and moving up to 25 pounds
