Summary
Mortenson is seeking a Commissioning Engineer I to perform routine commissioning assignments, applying basic engineering principles in a construction environment.Responsibilities
- Review owner project requirements
- Aid in performing scope reviews
- Create commissioning plans, checklists, and tests
- Perform field visits and observe commissioning inspections and tests
- Write issue descriptions and field reports
- Create Systems Manuals
- Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Support planning and execution of system tests, including NETA, SCADA, controls, and operations verification of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience
- Minimum one year of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP Contractor or Commissioning firm
- Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Basic understanding of key construction documents and their relationship to Project Management and Field Executions
- Basic understanding of how design, construction, start-up, and turnover align within the project delivery process
- Basic understanding of key construction documents and their relationship to Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC)
- Fundamental knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery
- Ability to conceptually relate the construction deliverable to the commissioning deliverable
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project management, and pertinent web applications; familiarity with database commissioning tools like BIM360 or Cx Alloy
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
- Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
- Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback
- Ability to travel up to 75%
