About the role
Praetorian Power Protection is seeking a Commissioning Engineer with electrical experience for our data center site in Reno, NV. This role is critical to ensuring the successful commissioning of electrical systems for our projects in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Ensure mission-critical electrical systems are installed, tested, and functioning according to design intent throughout the entire project lifecycle—from design review and factory testing to final integrated systems testing (IST) and facility handover.
- Execute Level 1–5 commissioning for critical systems, including UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), MV/LV Switchgear, Generators, ATS/STS, and PDUs.
- Develop and review commissioning plans, Functional Performance Tests (FPT), and Integrated System Testing (IST) scripts.
- Identify, document, and resolve complex electrical faults and design discrepancies during the startup phase.
- Analyze one-line diagrams, schematics, and submittals to ensure compliance with owner project requirements (OPR).
- Enforce strict adherence to NFPA 70E and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures on-site.
- Act as a technical liaison between owners, contractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met safely.
