Commissioning Engineer

Vogt Power International Inc. is an industry leader in heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with both domestic and international customers. Based in Louisville, KY, we specialize in the design, manufacture, and supply of equipment and solutions to the power generation industry.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Cold Commissioning:
  • Perform walk-downs and check-out with P & ID's
  • Develop punch-list with responsibilities and completion dates assigned
  • Note: Upon satisfactory completion/acceptance of walk-down and proper turnover, the Technical Advisor is released
  • Responsible for testing and inspection of mechanical equipment supplied by VPI
  • Responsible to see that mechanical adjustments are made
  • Work with customers to verify VPI supplied instrumentation is operational
  • Work with customers to verify loop testing of VPI supplied controls is complete
• Warm Commissioning:
  • Work with customers and/or contractor during boil-out and/or acid cleaning and steam blows
  • Verify that all VPI supplied equipment is ready for initial operation and functional testing
  • Maintain monitoring of VPI supplied equipment during reliability run
• Other:
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Construction

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Minimum five (5) years experience in the operation of multi-pressure level HRSGs with reheat
• Training position is available for qualified candidates without the above experience
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required
• Broad understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics as they apply to the equipment supplied by Vogt Power International
• Able to establish and maintain customer relationships at a high level
• Valid passport and willingness to travel frequently and on short notice, including spending approximately 90% of the time on the road, working some weekends, completing multi-month assignments (often around 4 months), and occasionally performing multiple assignments back-to-back, primarily within the United States

Pay

The base pay range for this Commissioning Engineer role is $124,800 - $191,360 annually.
