The Opportunity:

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Commissioning Authority to join their world-class Data Center Commissioning Team. This role offers hands-on experience with Data Center projects and exposure across various project types.

Position Summary:

Commissioning is a quality assurance process that ensures systems and components are installed and operate as intended. This role involves leading and managing the commissioning process for assigned projects, including field functional testing, checklist creation, meeting leadership, and documentation.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct field functional testing.
  • Create pre-functional and functional checklists.
  • Lead commissioning meetings and manage the commissioning process for assigned projects.
  • Perform field observations and document test results.
  • Maintain issue resolution logs and compile commissioning reports.
  • Assist with project management duties as needed.
  • Follow internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or a related field, or industry commensurate experience.
  • 8+ years of related industry experience and 2+ years of experience in datacenter commissioning, operations, or construction.
  • ANSI/ISO Accreditation Cx Certification (BCxA CCP, ACG CxA, ASHRAE BCxP).
  • Strong technical knowledge of datacenter MEP system design and operation, controls, and instrumentation.
  • Project management expertise, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Exceptional client-facing, client relationship, and client management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in team environments.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Safety first mindset.
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs and lift/carry loads above 20 lbs.
  • Ability to be on a job site for extended periods (8-10 hours).
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 50%.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional licensure (PE license, Energy Management, or TAB certifications) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage QA/QC processes.
  • Electrical systems commissioning experience.
  • Experience with commissioning software or ongoing commissioning tools.
  • Experience gained from military service maintaining, operating and/or testing nuclear power or other power systems.
  • Experience gained in commissioning, testing, or quality assurance of medium voltage power systems.

Work Environment and Location:

This position requires regular travel to data center project sites, with 50-70% travel expected. Our hybrid work environment requires two in-office and/or on-site days per week. All candidates must be located in and eligible to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $110,000 - $180,000 (depending on experience)
