Commissioning Agent/Engineer
About the role
In the role of Mechanical Commissioning Agent/Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Perform all phases of commissioning for our clients, under the support of a senior level commissioner, including producing commissioning materials for design phase commissioning, construction phase commissioning, acceptance testing and post acceptance commissioning.
- Participate in commissioning meetings, maintain project commissioning notes, understand how to work within deadlines and project constraints.
- Maintain communications with commissioning colleagues, clients and other project stakeholders.
- Perform site testing of mechanical equipment and electrical systems, as needed.
- Generate and edit test scripts for basic mechanical equipment.
- Document results of testing and maintain a non-compliance log.
Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- US citizenship is required.
- An engineering degree and/or LEED accreditation is preferred.
- A strong controls background is highly desirable.
- Local candidates preferred.
Required Qualifications:
- 4 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines.
- Proven ability to lead commissioning efforts from design through project completion.
- A passion for sustainability and knowledge of the commissioning process and experience with design, installation and operation of building systems (including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and controls).
- Willingness to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot HVAC, TAB, and Controls and have excellent report writing skills.
- A solid understanding of operational requirements, safety requirements, code inspections and maintenance considerations.
- Strong written, verbal communication and time management skills; exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interact with people at all levels.
- Technical knowledge of MEP systems and HVAC expertise.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Multitasking ability.
- A valid driver's license.

Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $79,625 - $113,750 {New Jersey: $86,457 - $134,250} annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
