About the Role
Tallahassee State College is seeking a Commercial Vehicle Driving Full-time Instructor in the Division of Workforce Development. This role involves providing instruction, supporting college policies, and fostering student success in academic and career planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction, service, and support of college policies and procedures, along with opportunities for professional development.
- Work with students and other Commercial Vehicle Driving educational staff to assist students with academic and career plans.
- Coordinate maintenance of truck and trailer records, scheduling maintenance, and maintaining vehicle registrations.
- Assist, when needed, in the recruitment of students and marketing of the program.
Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- At least three (3) years of full-time tractor-trailer truck driving experience with at least one of the three (3) years within the last 24 months. (Commercial vehicle driving training instruction may substitute for years of experience).
- Current State of Florida Class ‘A’ License.
- Knowledge of and experience with tractor-trailer truck driving principles and applications.
- Clean and safe driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to keep accurate and thorough records.
- Skilled in organization of tasks and responsive follow-through.
Preference will be given to CDL holders with endorsements and those with prior history of commercial vehicle instruction/training.

Pay
Starting salary at $50,000.00.
