Commercial Truck Driver – Residential Extra (7695)

Driver – Residential Extra position at Recology King County in Seattle. The role involves walking a half‑marathon per day in all weather to service local communities, operating vehicles under limited supervision, ensuring safety, and maintaining good customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily routine safety checks and pre‑trip inspections on assigned vehicle.
• Ensure all safety measures appropriate for vehicle operation are consistently applied.
• Operate vehicles in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Load all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and report any violations to the supervisor.
• Ensure hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Assure materials being transported comply with legal load limits.
• Report all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority in a timely manner.
• Maintain good customer relations and positively influence the community’s perception of the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Six months of commercial driving experience (required).
• Knowledge of job site safety principles, potential hazards, and state/local waste regulations.
• Basic computer skills.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Valid Class A or B driver’s license.
