About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Commercial Truck Driver to safely operate company heavy trucks and vehicles in support of heavy-civil construction operations. This position will require transporting equipment, materials, to and from storage locations to active jobsites, performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks, and assisting with general labor duties as needed to keep projects and shipping on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Report each day on time and ready to work.
- Drive trucks and other vehicles for the Equipment Division and multiple project site locations.
- Load and unload equipment and materials in a safe manner.
- Transport equipment to and from jobsites.
- Practice good, safe driving skills in all operating conditions, following all vehicular safety regulations.
- Keep the truck clean and fueled as needed.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and submit required paperwork.
- Use ELD.
- Navigate to jobsites and material sources in a timely manner.
- Perform non-driving, general labor duties as needed.
- Ensure project safety rules and environmental regulations are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Ten to fifteen years of experience working in the commercial driving industry.
- Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Experience driving in and around heavy civil construction projects including bridges, highway, transit, and rail projects preferred.
- Able and willing to work outdoors.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- Can take and apply direction from a supervisor.
- Workers must provide their own safety footwear.
