About the role
In this role as Commercial Trainer for Protein Diagnostics, you will work closely with Commercial leadership to maximize sales representative effectiveness by determining and solving training needs, developing solutions, and reinforcing strategy and processes for sales colleagues. This position is the key facilitator of training and coaching for commercial teams, focusing on the North America commercial team.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the global training team, North America sales, marketing, and executive leadership to align on sales strategy, process, implementation, and reinforcement.
- Use feedback, data, and analysis to improve the commercial learning and development offering and explore continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support enablement and communication efforts across sales teams for new product launches, system/tool/process awareness to drive execution in the field.
- Facilitate the training and adoption of CRM (Salesforce) to maximize market potential through insights that drive sales performance.
- Prepare sales representatives by assisting in onboarding, phased training, developing individual coaching plans, providing resources, and scheduling co-travel.
- Continuously refine training needs by traveling with sales representatives, observing sales encounters, studying sales results, and conferring with sales managers.
- Take ownership of stakeholder relationship management and attend monthly/quarterly reviews to drive satisfaction and learning outcomes.
- Manage the logistical planning and organizing of training activities, sales meetings, and assigned training programs (class preparation, facilitator engagement, setup).
- Develop individual results by maintaining policy/procedure resources, providing coaching, conducting training sessions, and offering directed follow-up and feedback.
- Improve training effectiveness by developing new approaches, making support readily available, and integrating support with routine job functions.
- Update job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, personal networks, and professional organizations.
- Annually help develop and implement clearly defined AOP targets and goals aligned with Thermo Fisher’s strategies and priorities.
- Ensure equality and diversity are considered in all learning and development activities.
- Complete other ad-hoc assignments or reporting as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Miller Heiman certified trainer (preferred).
- 5+ years of relevant sales and sales training experience.
- Previous experience in training design with knowledge of all aspects of the training cycle, education, or coaching.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high level of diplomacy.
- Experience with CRM tools, specifically Salesforce (SFDC).
- Regular travel across North America is required.
