About the Role

The Waste Pro Sales Representative drives short and long-term revenue growth through targeted prospecting, business development, consultative selling, and relationship building within a defined territory. This role focuses on acquiring new contracts and extending existing ones for the collection, processing, transportation, and disposal of solid waste and recyclables by engaging with commercial clients, governmental officials, and strategic partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop maximum potential sales volume and profitability within a defined territory.
  • Collaborate with Regional and Corporate Sales Managers to create strategic market and sales plans.
  • Meet or exceed sales call activity goals for new sales.
  • Align Waste Pro services with customer needs through consultative selling.
  • Build and maintain a strong customer base through phone calls and in-person visits.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through direct communication and feedback solicitation.
  • Drive contract acquisition, retention, and renewal by cultivating key relationships.
  • Leverage industry and competitive knowledge to prepare winning proposals.
  • Develop bid and RFP submittal packages in partnership with corporate teams, ensuring compliance with specifications, pricing, and quality standards.
  • Interface with Waste Pro executives, managers, and customers to target and pursue opportunities.
  • Close contracts through aggressive negotiation, competitive pricing, and adherence to sales strategies.
  • Conduct periodic billing and contract audits with finance and regional management to ensure accurate pricing and invoicing.
  • Resolve customer complaints in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in community events (e.g., Chambers of Commerce, Keep America Beautiful, SWANA) to promote Waste Pro’s brand.
  • Keep management informed of sales activities impacting the Division, Region, or Company.
  • Use technology to monitor, track, and report sales activity, including accurate revenue forecasting.
  • Partner with Corporate Sales and Marketing to recommend press coverage, collateral, advertising, and sponsorships.
  • Research competitor services and pricing to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Maintain sales activity status using a standardized format or sales automation tool.
  • Attend corporate-sponsored training courses as assigned.
  • Stay current with relevant technology used by Waste Pro.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g., keyboarding, machine operation) for most of the workday.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive extensively within a defined sales territory.

Work Environment

This role operates in an office setting and involves significant outside sales activities.
