About the role
We are seeking a Commercial Sales Manager to lead our sales operations, coach and develop a best-in-class sales team, and partner across the organization to maximize profitability and customer growth.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial sales team focused on organic growth, customer retention, and new business acquisition.
- Conduct field coaching, joint sales calls, and ongoing performance management to help Sales Representatives achieve their goals.
- Partner with Operations and Marketing to identify trends, improve profitability, and implement best practices.
- Maintain CRM compliance and identify opportunities to improve sales processes and productivity.
- Monitor sales performance, budgets, commissions, and key performance metrics to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Build and analyze business reports that support strategic planning and executive decision-making.
- Support pricing optimization initiatives by collaborating with vendors and internal pricing teams.
- Develop sales compensation documentation, territory planning, and performance improvement plans.
- Provide leadership during branch onboarding and support company growth initiatives.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a safety-first mindset.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in high-volume sales or sales operations leadership.
- Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing successful sales teams.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience using Sage CRM or other CRM platforms.
- Working knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding customer service mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Proven success in sales or sales operations roles.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the automotive, industrial, and commercial lubricants industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with CRM systems and business intelligence tools.
