Commercial Roofing Service Tech Foreman
About the Role
The service foreman is the front line of the service department and must be well versed in all commercial roofing systems, including BUR, MB, ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM), thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), metal, shingle, and other roof systems as needed.
Beyond technical roofing knowledge, the service foreman needs to be proficient in field technology, possess keen attention to detail for inspection reports and repair recommendations, and track leaks back to their original cause to determine the best repair approach.
Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, preventative maintenance reports, and inventory stock for their service vehicle, as well as managing subordinate personnel—tracking their time, safety, and training. Strong communication skills are required to interact with clients, other trades, service superintendents, and account managers.
Responsibilities
- Mastery of commercial roofing systems (BUR, MB, EPDM, TPO, PVC, metal, shingle, etc.)
- Conduct roof inspections and create detailed reports with repair recommendations
- Diagnose leak sources and determine effective repair solutions
- Maintain cleanliness, preventative maintenance logs, and inventory for service vehicle
- Supervise and train subordinate personnel, ensuring safety and time tracking
- Communicate clearly with clients, trades, superintendents, and account managers
- Adhere to roofing manufacturer warranty requirements during repairs
- Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints
- Operate tools and equipment for commercial roofing repairs
- Uphold safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment
- Work at heights, in varying weather conditions, and demanding environments
- Use field technology, including apps and Centerpoint Connect systems
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial roofing repairs
- Proven experience as a Roofing Foreman or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and repair techniques
- Valid man lift and OSHA certifications (preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Physical stamina for long hours, weekends, and travel (25% preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to commute or relocate to Wilmington, OH 45177 before starting work
- Proficiency in reading/writing English and using phone-based apps
