Commercial Roofer - Raleigh

About the role

We are looking for safety-oriented, experienced commercial roofing professionals to join our nationally family-owned company with over 125 years in business. This position involves year-round work with long hours and overtime, including travel and out-of-town stays for 3 to 4 weeks at a time.

Pay

Starting pay ranges from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on roofing experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety training and requirements
• Install commercial low slope and industrial roofing systems
• Read tape measures, layouts, and basic construction drawings
• Set up ladders, scaffolding, and fall protection equipment for safe roof access
• Operate roofing tools such as roofing knives, hammers, nail guns, rollers, torches, and other equipment
• Remove snow, debris, and water from roofs prior to installation of roofing materials
• Clean and maintain roofing tools, equipment, and work areas
• Assist foreman in identifying material needs and installation requirements
• Load and unload material and equipment from variant heights
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with a hoist and clean work area
• Shovel loose materials such as gravel, sand, metal, snow, or dirt

Requirements

• Able and willing to travel and stay out of town for 3 to 4 weeks consecutively at a time
• Experience installing commercial low slope and industrial roofing systems
• Working knowledge of roofing materials, installation procedures, and safety practices
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license (for company driving positions)
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
• High School diploma, equivalent, or complete GED within 6 months of employment
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to communicate effectively through written correspondence and verbally in English

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds at a time on a regular basis throughout the day
• Must be able to frequently ascend/descend ladders up to 40 feet
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, bend over, or kneel for extended periods
• Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions
• Must be able to work in varied extreme weather conditions (extreme hot and extreme cold)
