About the role
The Commercial Relationship Manager IV at SouthState is responsible for developing and managing a complex loan and deposit portfolio within a South State metropolitan market. The role involves selling additional products and services, underwriting loan requests, and ensuring compliance with regulations and bank policies.
Responsibilities
- Develops and manages a loan and deposit portfolio of commercial clients
- Manages the flow of loan and deposit requests through appropriate channels
- Underwrites loan requests and ensures loan packages are accurate and complete
- Serves as a point of contact for clients and internal teams
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and bank policies
- Provides superior customer service and builds positive relationships with clients and community partners
- Resolves client problems and assists with inquiries
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, banking, or related field
- Minimum of 2-5 years commercial lending or portfolio management experience
- Well-developed sales, interpersonal, and negotiating skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic accounting and credit skills
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize complex work assignments
- Proven analytical skills and ability to evaluate credit worthiness
- Proficient in using basic office equipment, especially a calculator and computer
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Bank products, services, procedures, and practices
- In-depth knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and Bank policies
- Familiarity with local business community
- Annual compliance training and New Employee Orientation
