Commercial Refrigeration Technician
Responsibilities
- Handles routine service, warranty work, and emergency repairs.
- Ensures systems meet industry standards.
- Prioritizes safety, satisfaction, and client comfort.
- Provides the highest level of customer service, technical ability, and quality to our customers.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs most standard refrigeration units for commercial customers.
- Diagnoses and repairs electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of the commercial refrigeration systems.
- Trips to job sites in assigned service area and works with assigned Dispatcher(s).
- Maintains good working order of company vehicle, including cleaning and organizing, and washing vehicle.
- Maintains proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment upon arrival.
- Documents details of services and parts provided to customers electronically.
- Diagnoses a variety of service issues, obtains necessary replacement parts, calibrates systems according to manufacturer specifications, and clearly communicates the issue(s) and recommended solutions to the client.
- Participates in company-provided training opportunities and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
- Identifies and reports potential opportunities for additional business to management.
- Follows all environmental regulations, including the handling and disposal of refrigerants, in accordance with EPA guidelines.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in reading schematics, work plans, and using diagnostic tools, refrigerant recovery equipment, and specialized instruments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced understanding of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration principles.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly dependable and consistent in delivering quality work.
- Enthusiastic, with strong integrity, craftsmanship, and a positive attitude.
- Basic computer skills for communication and documentation using iPads and/or cell phones.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to travel to assigned client sites.
- Commitment to delivering high levels of customer service consistently.
Qualifications
- Specific Industry Certification/License: EPA Certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ Years of recent HVAC/R Technician field experience required.
