Competitive hourly pay, $40-50/hour based on experience In-office role in downtown Chicago Supportive, team-oriented environment Opportunity to work with a well-regarded, growing real estate practice Job Details COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL - TEMPORARY A well-established Chicago law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal for a temporary assignment supporting attorneys through sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, from contract to closing. This role is ideal for a highly organized paralegal who's comfortable juggling multiple active deals at once and serving as a key point of contact for clients, lenders, and title companies. Responsibilities Support attorneys through all stages of commercial real estate deals, from contract through closing Draft and revise closing statements, settlement documents, amendments, deeds, and affidavits Review title commitments and surveys, flag issues, and coordinate objection resolution with title companies and other parties Order lien searches, zoning reports, and municipal searches Build and organize closing binders and transaction files Manage closing logistics with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, brokers, and title companies Track transaction deadlines to keep documents and tasks on schedule Support due diligence review of organizational, property, and financing documents File and record real estate documents and UCC filings with the appropriate county/government offices Keep transaction records current in the firm's document management system Serve as a regular point of contact for clients and third parties on transaction status Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a real estate paralegal in a law firm or legal department Bachelor's degree required Paralegal certificate preferred, or equivalent professional experience Strong understanding of closing procedures, title review, and transactional documentation Experience with high-volume commercial real estate transactions Familiarity with lender requirements and financing documentation Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities Sharp attention to detail and strong proofreading/organizational skills Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); comfortable converting and manipulating PDFs Experience with document management systems and time entry software High level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information Interested in hearing more?
