About the role
Provide technical expertise, activity coordination, and quality control for all daily work and forward planning on multiple projects simultaneously. Serve as the front-line interface with subcontractors, vendors, local municipality officials, design professionals, and clients. This position ensures key communication across all parties to meet or exceed expectations.
Responsibilities
- Regular presence on the work site, available at all times to employees and subcontractors during work hours.
- Maintain or provide daily project documentation as required and distribute as needed.
- Prepare Project Schedules in MS Project, review with VPO, and maintain updates for effective scheduling.
- Ensure company Safety Policy is followed at all times by all individuals on site, including visitors.
- Proactively coordinate all work and team members with Project Superintendent staff to minimize rework and ensure seamless execution.
- Monitor project progress daily, adjust activities to avoid delays, and provide updates to supervisor on schedule and subcontractor performance.
- Conduct OAC and subcontractor progress meetings as needed; ensure accurate notes are distributed.
- Maintain control over project purchases and expenses to ensure they are within budgeted amounts.
- Coordinate subcontractors across multiple projects to minimize delays and additional expenses.
- Maintain all project documents, specifications, selections, milestone dates, and Hickory Standard Practices; distribute to key players as needed.
- Coordinate equipment needs for the project, track budget impact, and provide feedback to appropriate parties.
- Prepare the Project Deliverables Schedule, collect samples as needed, and distribute to Design Teams regularly.
- Serve as the primary contact for the owner on projects; conduct OAC Meetings and maintain accurate records of all site interactions.
- Maintain and provide regular updates to the Project Budget Review; distribute to all appropriate parties.
Requirements
- Construction management and leadership experience.
- Knowledge of building codes, ability to read and interpret blueprints, and familiarity with municipal permitting requirements and regulations.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field.
- Minimum of 12 months in a Project Manager 1 or equivalent position.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, MS Office, MS Project, and web-based applications; able to train others.
- Procore Project Manager Certifications required.
- Experience in high-pressure situations and projects with tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and non-verbal) with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Effective leadership skills for teams of 2–100 individuals, including company employees and subcontractors across multiple projects.
- OSHA 30 and CPR certified within 12 months of position acquisition.
