Commercial Pest Technician

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations, damage, and entry points.
  • Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, to effectively eliminate pests while adhering to safety standards.
  • Provide educational services to customers on pest prevention methods and the importance of maintaining a pest-free environment.
  • Offer advice on how to reduce the risk of future infestations.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments with customers, help with sales to current customers, and expand the company’s product offerings to new customers.
  • Maintain and stock all pest control equipment in good working condition.
  • Operate a company provided service vehicle safely and adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocols.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways.
  • Work around animals, insects, and termites.
  • Work around mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals.
  • Move around frequently, regularly sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), like an OSHA-compliant respirator.

Requirements

  • Clean shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers have to be able to seal your face).
  • A high school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
  • Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information in both internal and external settings.
  • Basic math skills — add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • The ability to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
  • Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us).
  • Customer-facing experience preferred.

Qualifications
