About the role

This is a professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions on the commercial side of the business. The position is responsible for profitable growth of the commercial business via customer retention and growth. The role partners with the General Manager to manage Team Members and has expert knowledge of automotive systems and part knowledge.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include maintaining commercial customer relationships, providing a great selling experience for commercial customers, achieving personal and store sales goals and service objectives, and providing day-to-day supervisory support for Team Members. The role also involves collaborating with the General Manager on coaching and developmental needs for Team Members, dispatching drivers to ensure timely and accurate delivery, maintaining commercial stocking programs, and building and maintaining a network of second source suppliers.

Secondary responsibilities include maintaining core bank and commercial returns, maintaining commercial credit accounts, and partnering with the General Manager to ensure proper driver coverage.

Requirements

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of prior automotive parts experience, proven sales ability, and formal or informal experience leading teams. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is also required.

Skills

The role requires a range of skills, including friendly communication, ability to locate and stock parts, safety knowledge and skills, operating inventory systems and store equipment, and parts and automotive system knowledge. The role also requires ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent, advanced solution and project quality recommendation ability, and the ability to source from numerous places.

The role requires a range of qualifications, including working knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic ability, and the ability to speak and write English. The role also requires the ability to read and interpret documents, understand and execute instructions, and successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics include working inside, with occasional exposure to various weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
