About the role

Duval Motor Company is seeking motivated, customer-focused Commercial Associates to join our team. In this role, you are responsible for selling new and used commercial vehicles to businesses and individuals. This position requires a deep understanding of the commercial vehicle market, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients. The Commercial Salesperson will work closely with the Sales Manager to achieve sales targets and provide customers with an exceptional buying experience.

Responsibilities

  • Satisfy the transportation needs of commercial/fleet accounts and retail purchasers.
  • Sell/lease and deliver the required minimum units per month as designated by the dealership.
  • Prospect commercial/fleet accounts via phone call, e-mail, and/or cold call visits.
  • Set appointments with commercial/fleet accounts to demonstrate new products beneficial to their business.
  • Know and understand Ford Fleet Programs (e.g., CPAs, FIN codes, Commercial Lease, up-fit eligibility).
  • Approach, greet, and offer help or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  • Assist customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.
  • Explain product performance, application, and benefits to prospects.
  • Describe all optional equipment available for customer purchase.
  • Offer test drives to all prospects and follow dealership procedure to obtain proper identification prior to test drive.
  • Utilize dealership sales control and follow-up system.
  • Exhibit a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Know and understand federal, state, and local laws governing retail and commercial/fleet automobile sales.
  • Establish personal income goals consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Attend product and sales training courses as requested by the sales manager.
  • Keep abreast of new products, features, accessories, and their benefits to customers.
  • Understand equity and values and explain depreciation to customers.
  • Ensure the sales manager meets each customer.
  • Turn 100 percent of closed deals to the finance and insurance manager with properly completed paperwork (insurance information, trade title, etc.).
  • Write complete sales orders and process paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.
  • Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to customer arrival.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
  • Introduce customers to Service Department personnel to emphasize quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance.
  • Schedule the first service appointment via BDC.
  • Follow up on all post-delivery items, tag/title work, “we-owes,” and special requests to ensure all customer expectations are met.
  • Maintain an owner follow-up system to encourage repeat and referral business and contribute to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a prospect development system.
  • Review and analyze daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly actions to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.
  • Attend sales meetings.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to confidently sell vehicles and dealership products.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including background check, MVR check, and drug test.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and complete Form I-9 within 3 business days of hire.
