About This Role
This position is for a seasoned Project Manager in Commercial Mechanical Installation. They work independently, interacting with customers, supporting the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets, overseeing subcontractors, facilitating project tasks with various functional organizations, forecasting project revenues, tracking progress and costs, identifying project problems, and recommending resolutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the installation of commercial HVAC equipment within various vertical markets, positively representing the company in all client and architect/engineer interactions.
- Work with end-users, sales staff, and prime contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and deliverables.
- Help oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation.
- Develop a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets. Conduct Work in Progress meetings.
- Develop working knowledge with Building Automation Systems (BAS) systems; Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus.
- Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.
- Convey a sense of professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management.
- Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Accurately forecast revenue each month as well as track costs by reviewing each project to estimate the value of work completed each month correctly.
- Execute all major functions required for project management, including project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring, and project close-out.
- Manage the Change Order process, assuring that scope creep does not occur.
- Assure that all projects will be managed to or exceed the percentage of booked project margin.
- Assure that job safety is a priority on every project.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years project management in commercial HVAC Mechanical Equipment Installation.
- 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Building automation or electrical installation or construction field.
- Must be able to read blueprints, structural drawings, and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
- Experience and/or certification in BACnet; or LEED certification.
- PMP certification or working towards PMP Certification.
- Absolutely Associates Degree in engineering or project management.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
