Commercial Marketing Data Analytics Professional
About the role
The Commercial Business Analyst III will lead the development and delivery of analytics, reporting, and decision-support solutions that support Commercial Marketing business performance. This role partners with Marketing, Commercial, Accounting, FP&A, Risk, and other business stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights, evaluate business opportunities, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making. The position is responsible for maintaining reliable analytics products, ensuring data quality, conducting economic analyses, and driving continuous improvement across business processes and reporting capabilities.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial, operational, financial, and market data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and drivers of business performance, develop actionable recommendations that improve decision quality and business outcomes.
- Plan and conduct comprehensive analyses that include data gathering, validation, and synthesis to provide actionable business recommendations.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance economic models, forecasts, dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that support commercial activities, trading execution, and long-term planning.
- Evaluate business opportunities, investments, and commercial strategies using financial, operational, and economic analysis.
- Present analytical findings, business insights, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership in a clear and concise manner.
Data and Analytics Solutions
- Acquire, validate, reconcile, transform, and analyze large and complex datasets to ensure the availability of accurate and trustworthy information for decision-making.
- Develop repeatable reporting and visualization solutions that improve transparency, increase efficiency, and provide consistent business performance measurement.
- Drive data quality improvements by partnering with subject matter experts to identify root causes, resolve data issues, establish standards, and improve information reliability and consistency.
- Own and maintain critical analytics, reports, models, and decision-support tools to ensure reliability, consistency, and ongoing business value.
Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects that improve business processes, reporting capabilities, data accessibility, operational efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.
- Document business processes and context, analytical and reporting methodologies, and data flows to improve transparency, sustainability, and knowledge sharing.
- Support adoption of analytical tools, reporting solutions, and process improvements through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define analytical needs, prioritize enhancements, and deliver scalable reporting and data solutions.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Analytics / Intelligence, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Sciences, Business Administration, or other related field.
- With specific job-related experience as follows:
- Significant experience in analytics, commercial analysis, business analysis, financial analysis, reporting, data management, or related functions.
- Experience developing and maintaining financial models, forecasts, reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions.
- Experience analyzing large and complex datasets and translating findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Experience working with commodity market data, commodity transactional systems, business agreements, operational data, financial and accounting data.
- Experience collaborating across multiple business functions to deliver analytics, reporting, or process improvement initiatives.
- Experience with data visualization, reporting platforms, database technologies, and SQL-based data analysis.
Preferred Experience
- With business intelligence and visualization platforms.
- Experience with process improvement, workflow automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing or leading projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience applying financial, economic, statistical, and forecasting methodologies to business decisions.

- Leadership & Execution: Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment; commitment to data quality, process discipline, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Skills: Utilize and apply skills related to basic math, algebra and statistical formulas; read and interpret applicable contracts, agreements, reports, statements, invoices, confirmations, correspondence, tariffs, government regulations, industry standards, financial data, electronic bulletin board communications and company policies and procedures; maintain the highest level of confidentiality with sensitive information; utilize excel advanced formulas, pivot tables, graphs and add-ins.

Expected Salary Range
$89,000.00 - $133,000.00
