Commercial/Luxury Custom Home Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Taking the design lead and certification on projects
  • Cross-collaboration with internal and external clients to meet project and client objectives
  • Aggressively resolving project concerns as they arise
  • Performing conceptual to final design and certification of residential and commercial projects
  • Preparing calculations and details of structural elements for commercial projects
  • Drafting project plans using AutoCAD, as assigned
  • Aiding in construction support activities including response to requests for information (RFI’s), submittal reviews, job site reviews, design reviews, etc.
  • Assisting in coordination of work product with other disciplines
  • Maintaining close contact and a good working relationship with project owners and engineers
  • Providing updated information to superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors as necessary
  • Reading, interpreting, and comprehending engineering specifications, process design drawings and contracts

  • Knowledge of Metal plate connected wood trusses
  • Knowledge of Engineered Wood Products
  • Knowledge of Steel, Wood, Masonry Structures
  • Ability to communicate, be professional, empathetic, determined, reliable, and a team player

Qualifications

  • Florida PE License with a minimum of 3-5 years of qualified experience performing structural engineering of wood and masonry structures and certifying projects
  • AutoCAD 2D intermediate/expert proficiency, Revit a plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Risa 3D
