Job Summary
Bridgeway Capital is seeking a Commercial Loan Officer based in Erie, Pennsylvania to originate commercial loans and affordable housing real estate loans and loans to nonprofit organizations in underserved communities throughout northwestern Pennsylvania.
Job Responsibilities
· Originate commercial real estate and community development loans that meet eligibility specifications and credit standards, while reaching assigned loan volume goals
· Calls on real estate developers; networks through industry sources such as professional organizations, title companies, attorneys, accountants, centers of influence, and realtors to develop leads; utilizes strong interpersonal skills to maximize business contacts and develops relationships with current/potential loan customers, management, and staff
· Strong knowledge of the real estate development process, funding and financing options for affordable housing and community facility development
· Evaluate potential loans, including credit and cash flow analysis, and prepare loan presentations for approval. Work with other Bridgeway team members to underwrite and close loans.
· Manage a portfolio of loans, including assisting with credit reviews and exploring new lending opportunities from existing clients
· Serves as Bridgeway Capital’s liaison to the region by attending economic development events, meeting with key partners/funders in Erie and surrounding areas, and networking with banking partners and regional businesses
· Manages service relationships with appraisers and vendors as required
· Other duties as required
Technical Expertise
· Experience in commercial real estate transactions required
· Experience with affordable housing finance and non-profit development is a plus
· Tax credit financing (NMTC, HTC, LIHTC) a plus
· Experience in commercial lending is required
· Proficiency in writing skills and verbal communication skills are required
· Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, and Word] is required
Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or similar field is required.
· Lender should have 3 years of experience in Commercial Lending
· Existing professional network of business connections in the northwestern Pennsylvania region
· Capacity to work independently and motivation to achieve goals with minimal supervision
· Ability to participate productively as part of a team
· Commitment to the work of nonprofit organizations and making a positive impact in the community
