Because we operate with lean case teams, every attorney plays a meaningful role throughout the full lifecycle of a matter.

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Attorney with approximately 3–5 years of litigation experience to join a busy Dallas practice. This role is ideal for a confident and motivated attorney who enjoys managing cases, developing litigation strategy, and taking ownership of matters from the early stages through resolution. The position focuses primarily on commercial litigation, construction disputes, and real estate-related matters, with a significant emphasis on defense work for home-builder and business clients. The attorney will work within a fast-paced and highly productive environment while receiving support and strategic guidance from experienced litigators.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial litigation matters from pre-suit investigation through resolution
  • Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and other attorneys
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and substantive correspondence
  • Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses
  • Propound and respond to written discovery
  • Review and manage document productions
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding case status, exposure, and strategy
  • Coordinate with experts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and vendors
  • Assist with trial preparation and courtroom proceedings
  • Track deadlines and independently manage multiple active files

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active Texas Bar membership in good standing
  • Approximately 3–5 years of civil litigation experience
  • Commercial, construction, or real estate litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Defense-side litigation experience preferred
  • Ability to independently manage files with sound judgment
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience with discovery, depositions, hearings, and mediation
  • Strong oral advocacy and client-communication abilities
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and deadline management
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-moving legal environment
  • Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively

Pay

$125,000 - $160,000 per year
