Job Details
The Commercial Litigation Associate will represent clients in a wide range of complex business disputes, providing strategic legal analysis, drafting substantive pleadings, managing discovery, and participating in all phases of litigation.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda on substantive legal issues
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic case analysis and recommendations
- Manage and participate in discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and preparing deposition outlines
- Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff on case strategy and execution
- Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel
- Assist with business development and client relationship activities as appropriate
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar
- 1–5 years of commercial or complex litigation experience (experience level may be flexible depending on candidate strength)
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Experience appearing in court and participating in depositions preferred
- Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and client‑focused mindset
