As a Commercial Lines Territory Manager within the territory of Massachusetts, you will play a key role in driving profitable Commercial Lines growth across an assigned territory of independent agency partners.
Responsibilities
- Drive achievement of Commercial Lines new business, retention, cross-sell, quote activity, conversion, and profitability objectives.
- Develop and execute agency-specific territory plans focused on increasing Mapfre's share of market and expanding profitable growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong, in-person relationships with agency principals, Commercial Lines managers, producers, account teams, and other key decision-makers.
- Manage pipeline activity, quote follow-up, lost business reviews, and conversion strategies in partnership with agencies and underwriting teams.
- Identify and execute cross-sell opportunities across Commercial Lines products, including Commercial Auto, BOP, CPP, Umbrella, Small Commercial, and Middle Market solutions.
- Partner closely with Commercial Lines Underwriting to align agency opportunities with underwriting appetite, risk quality, pricing discipline, and profitability goals.
- Deliver agency business reviews, onboarding, product education, sales coaching, system training, and ongoing agency development initiatives designed to improve agency performance and strengthen engagement.
- Gather competitive intelligence and communicate market insights to underwriting, product, marketing, and business development leadership.
- Collaborate with Personal Lines business development partners to support broader agency relationship management and identify Commercial Lines expansion opportunities.
- Prospect for strategic Commercial Lines agency appointments and book transfer opportunities that align with Mapfre standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of agency visits, sales opportunities, pipeline activity, action items, and agreements within Salesforce/CRM and other designated systems.
- Participate in internal meetings, committees, and business reviews supporting product updates, rate changes, market trends, territory strategies, and business development initiatives.
- Proactively communicate with agency concerns, competitive pressures, market opportunities, and operational barriers that may impact territory results.
- Travel regularly throughout the territory (up to 75%) to support agency engagement, business development, and territory growth.
- Support overall corporate goals and business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, professional-level knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience.
- 4–6 years of related experience, or an associate degree plus 6–8 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines products, underwriting appetite, risk selection, pricing considerations, agency workflows, competitive positioning, and sales pipeline management.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted agency partnerships, influence results, and drive profitable growth.
- Strong communication, presentation, relationship management, and consultative selling skills.
- Experience using Salesforce/CRM tools to manage agency activity, opportunities, and territory planning.
- Industry designations such as CPCU, CIC, CRM, ARM, AU, or other relevant certifications are preferred.

Pay
The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000
