Commercial Lines Senior Account Manager
About the role
The Commercial Lines Senior Account Manager works collaboratively with the Producer and Account Executive managing a book of business. They coordinate and provide day-to-day service for property/casualty clients by maintaining client relationships, supporting client retention, maintaining strong carrier relationships, and understanding client needs. They serve as the primary point of contact for large or complex clients, often leading client discussions and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Manages a book of insurance business, while acting with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making
- Serves as primary point of contact for large or complex clients; often leads client discussions and presentations
- Serves as a senior account manager with deep technical product knowledge including lines and coverages. May help develop client strategy with Account Executives and Producers or independently
- Provides professional, courteous service to our clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, resulting in a rate of account retention that meets or exceeds expectations
- Serves as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve. May also negotiate with underwriters and carriers
- Troubleshoots billing issues
- Supports, mentors, and trains Account Administrators and Account Managers, as necessary
- Attends industry-related continuing education training and courses
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in an Account Manager role in a brokerage environment
- Large Commercial Account experience required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- P&C License required or able to obtain within 120 days from hire
- Advanced professional designation preferred (e.g. AAI, ARM, CIC, CPCU)
