Responsibilities
- Responsible for the combined functions of the development and successful acquisition on new business revenue from new and existing clients and providing a high level of client service to assigned accounts
- Remain current on company insurance products and offerings, as well as developments in the marketplace, including product line offerings, changing insurance consumer trends and needs
- Manage the client and prospect relationships to help grow the book of existing accounts, providing and recommending the most appropriate insurance solutions
- Complete applications and supply appropriate underwriting information, as well as negotiate with underwrites relative to proper coverages and placement
- Prepare new business strategies in collaboration with the producer, including proposals and presentations while ensuring agreement with customer’s request/requiment
- Maintain strong underwriter and carrier relationships
- Take on the relationship piece for transferred accounts to assist in retention and growth
- Execute the renewal strategy in accordance with client instructions and manage the renewal marketing process
- Cook up new business opportunities to sell additional coverage from existing clients when appropriate
- Bind and/or place coverage with acceptable carriers, adhering to appropriate carrier binding authority
- Process change requests and other coverage research issues
- Provide day-to-day service to clients to ensure their needs are appropriately met
- Coordinate and execute pre-renewal and renewal meetings with clients
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid Insurance license
- Professional Designation specific to area of specialty preferred (ie, ARM, CIC, RPLU)
Qualifications
- College Degree in a business-related field
- 7+ years’ experience in the insurance industry, or a related field
- Proficient knowledge of insurance coverages, contracts, and state regulations where business is conducted
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher
- Able to create, edit, and merge letters, spreadsheets, labels, etc.
- Proficient knowledge of the use of office equipment (including but not limited to copy machines, printers, faxes, binding machines, etc.)
