About the role

As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, you will assist insurance advisors in handling and processing new and renewal commercial lines business, provide high-level support in servicing commercial accounts, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide positive, prompt, and accurate service to clients.
- Coordinate with advisors to obtain policy information and maintain expiration control logs.
- Assist in marketing new and renewal business, including evaluating premiums, preparing proposals, and maintaining underwriting and marketing information by carrier.
- Accompany insurance advisors to client meetings when requested.
- Check new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating and coverage, input transactions, and generate billing invoices.
- Ensure policies and invoices are delivered or mailed to clients or advisors.
- Handle client and company phone calls regarding policy coverage, claims, or administrative needs; refer to advisors when necessary.
- Maintain a suspense system to follow up on outstanding orders, correspondence, and overdue items.
- Assist other departments and advisors in cross-selling and account rounding.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least two (2) years of experience in a similar position is desirable.
- Required state licensing certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; college degree is preferred but not necessary.
- Strong understanding of commercial lines insurance coverages, forms, procedures, and policy rating systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and agency/document management systems.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
The role is performed in a moderate office environment with no exposure to weather conditions. Physical demands include:
- Occasional standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to handle objects or tools.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Regular communication (talking/hearing) and visual abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment).
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds.
