About the role

The Commercial Insurance Account Manager provides above-standard customer service to clients, producers, account executives, and coworkers. As the primary contact for assigned accounts, you will work in a team environment to deliver a full range of client services while developing strong relationships in commercial lines insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with Commercial Lines Insurance clients and insurance company underwriters following company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Support large and complex commercial lines clients.
  • Review all insurance applications, policies, endorsements, cancellations, and audits for accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for all client transactions.
  • Investigate matters of significance for clients using independent judgment and discretion.
  • Manage and facilitate the full renewal process for assigned clients, including preparation of applications, negotiation with underwriters, review and comparison of quotes, and preparation of proposals.
  • Assist Sales Executive in identifying new business opportunities by adding new lines of coverage and recommending value-added services.
  • Request referrals and cultivate relationships with new customers.
  • May supervise, lead, or mentor Account Managers and/or Account Assistants.

Requirements

  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance License as required by respective state, or the ability to obtain one within 60 days from date of hire.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of Commercial Lines middle market account management experience with a broker.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance coverage is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, or other related field preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, working with specific deadlines.
  • Skilled in producing strong written and verbal communication.
