About the Opportunity:The COMMERCIAL LIABILITY CLAIM ADJUSTER is responsible for managing complex and litigated liability and property claims. This role focuses on investigating coverage, liability, and damages, negotiating settlements, maintaining claim reserves and payments, and providing reports to stakeholders. The position ensures claims are effectively handled from initiation through closure, contributing to risk mitigation and financial control. Responsibilities:Handle and supervise complex commercial general liability and property claimsInvestigate coverage, liability, and damagesNegotiate with contractors, public adjusters, and attorneysMaintain claim reserves and process paymentsPrepare and present large loss reportsCommunicate with managers and internal/external customersAttend mediations and settlement conferencesDirect defense counsel to resolve litigated claimsEnsure compliance with relevant laws and regulationsMaintain high pending and closing claim ratiosPerform other related duties as assigned Requirements:Experience with commercial general liability claims, including construction defect, New York Labor Law, or medical malpractice claimsAbility to interpret complex insurance policy contractsStrong negotiation and communication skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities under deadlinesKnowledge of case law, statutory law, and regulatory requirementsAnalytical skills for claim evaluation and resolutionIndependent, proactive, and dependable work styleAttention to detail and discretion with confidential informationAbility to work collaboratively and independently Pay Range and Compensation Package:$80,000 - $93,000 per year Benefits & Perks:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) plan with employer matchingPaid time off, including discretionary and paid time offPaid holidaysLife insurance and short-term and long-term disability coverage Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
