About the Role

The Commercial Lending Portfolio Manager II evaluates and prepares commercial loan applications, recommending approval or disapproval of complex commercial loans while adhering to bank standards and loan policies. This role collaborates with senior managers and Commercial Lenders to meet client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite loan requests, including new loans, amendments, extensions, modifications, and renewals.
  • Perform and review financial analyses, producing cash flow worksheets.
  • Analyze financial statements, industry and market data, and prepare credit approval packages with an independent opinion on key credit considerations.
  • Evaluate general contractors and property management companies with the Lender, if applicable.
  • Review borrowing base certificates to assess compliance.
  • Pull credit reports and collaborate with lenders to produce term sheets and commitment letters.
  • Review draw requests, coordinate property inspections, and certify draws via an independent inspector.
  • Track and resolve document exceptions related to closing and ongoing exceptions.
  • Test performance against original underwriting and covenant requirements upon receipt of required reporting information.
  • Enter information into nCino and submit loan packages for approval.
  • Request financial spreads, global cash flow analysis, appraisals, evaluations, and environmental information.
  • Obtain and review construction loan documentation for Borrower draw requests.
  • Gather borrowing base certificates, leases, and general contractor documents.
  • Review all loan documents pre- and post-closing to ensure accuracy and completion per loan approval.
  • Perform annual, quarterly, or more frequent reviews to assess project performance via covenant testing and risks associated with the project, borrower, and guarantors.
  • Stay informed of current economic and legislative conditions.
  • Participate in civic, community, and industry-related activities as needed.
  • Remain current on FDIC, OCC, and State Banking Regulations.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory issues, including Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy Act, Fair Lending Act, and Regulation E.
  • Complete required compliance training and adhere to the Bank's standard of conduct.
  • Participate in the bank's High-Performance Rewards Connections program and make referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of banking experience with at least 2 years in credit analysis and working with Commercial Underwriters and Lenders, or a Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
  • Experience assisting Commercial Lenders with high-dollar credit amounts.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial and retail lending services, documentation, underwriting, regulatory guidelines, financial ratios, credit analysis, and lending duties.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze personal and business tax returns and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in calculating complex financial ratios and applying them accordingly.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours as necessary.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with daily deadlines.
