Commercial Irrigation Technician

Summary: This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving irrigation systems across commercial landscape properties throughout the Orlando area. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable troubleshooting irrigation systems, and takes pride in completing quality work. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, and keeping commercial irrigation systems operating efficiently, we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Do Inspect and maintain commercial irrigation systems.Troubleshoot irrigation problems and determine the cause of system failures.Repair and replace irrigation valves, sprinkler heads, rotors, nozzles, drip systems, piping, wiring, and related components.Diagnose electrical irrigation issues using appropriate testing equipment.Troubleshoot and program irrigation controllers.Work with conventional and two-wire/decoder irrigation systems.Locate and repair leaks in mainlines and lateral lines.Adjust sprinkler heads and irrigation zones for proper coverage.Identify excessive watering, poor coverage, runoff, and other system inefficiencies.Set and adjust irrigation schedules based on seasonal conditions, landscape requirements, and local watering regulations.Perform preventative irrigation inspections.Complete emergency irrigation repairs when necessary.Read irrigation plans, maps, and system layouts.Document completed work, repairs, materials, and system deficiencies.Communicate irrigation issues and recommended repairs to the Account Manager or Irrigation Manager.Maintain professional relationships with customers, property managers, HOA representatives, and site personnel.Safely operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment.Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and job site.Follow all BrightView safety policies and procedures. Required What We're Looking For Previous irrigation repair and troubleshooting experience.Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical irrigation problems.Working knowledge of irrigation valves, controllers, sprinkler heads, piping, wiring, and water flow.Ability to work independently and manage assigned commercial properties.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.Ability to work outdoors in Florida's heat, humidity, rain, and varying weather conditions.Strong work ethic and attention to detail.Professional communication and customer-service skills. Preferred Commercial landscape irrigation experience.Experience with HOA, multifamily, retail, commercial, municipal, or large-property irrigation systems.Experience with two-wire/decoder systems.Experience with irrigation pump stations.Irrigation certification or licensing.Backflow certification.Experience with irrigation management or work-order software. What You'll Need To Succeed We're looking for someone who: Knows how to troubleshoot before replacing parts.Takes ownership of assigned properties.Can accurately diagnose irrigation problems.Works safely, efficiently, and independently.Communicates clearly with management and customers.Takes pride in quality workmanship.Understands that proper irrigation management is about keeping the entire system operating efficiently—not simply fixing broken sprinkler heads. Physical Requirements This position requires working outdoors and performing physical tasks throughout the workday, including: Walking commercial properties.Digging and trenching.Bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.Lifting and carrying irrigation materials and equipment.Working around irrigation boxes, piping, valves, controllers, and other system components.Working in heat, humidity, rain, and other outdoor conditions.
