Commercial IP Transaction Attorney (Physical/Hardware Materials Experience)
About the role
The PositionA is seeking a Commercial IP/Generalist Attorney to support its lean legal team during a high-growth phase. This role is ideal for a commercially minded attorney who can negotiate deals involving materials and hardware, protect core IP, and provide practical, business-aligned advice.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate NDAs, distribution, and formation agreements
- Negotiate university collaborations and evaluation agreements
- Support other commercial matters where protecting core IP is critical
- Provide clear, actionable guidance to non-legal stakeholders
- Support the team in providing practical, business-aligned advice
Requirements
- Experience negotiating deals involving materials and hardware
- Strong IP instincts
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Practical, business-aligned approach to protecting the company's interests
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-legal stakeholders
Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in at least one state
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience with commercial agreements, particularly those involving materials and hardware
- Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills

Pay
Hourly rate: $105 - $115
Schedule
Remote position, 30-40 hours per week, initial duration of 3+ months.
