About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for commercial interior construction projects. This hands-on role focuses on drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and commercial flooring, managing the estimating process from initial plan review through final proposal.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, and flooring projects.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and estimating requirements.
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to develop competitive project bids.
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, value engineering opportunities, and potential project risks prior to bid submission.
  • Prepare complete bid proposals and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field teams, vendors, and clients to clarify scope and project requirements.
  • Maintain organized estimating files and documentation using estimating or project management software.
  • Assist with project handoffs by providing estimating details and scope clarification to operations teams.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior construction trades.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency with construction estimating or project management software preferred.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Commercial interior construction experience is required.
