Commercial Insurance Inspector- (Jefferson City, MO.)

About the role

EXL Risk Control is seeking self-directed independent contractors with excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and a commitment to meeting client quality and timeliness standards. You will work remotely and conduct onsite survey/inspection assignments in the Jefferson City, MO area and other locations within approximately 45 miles.

Responsibilities

• Schedule on-site surveys and deliver risk control reports to insurance industry clients.
• Provide reports containing information necessary to underwrite commercial insurance policies, including recommendations to control or correct potential loss-producing conditions.
• Manage accepted assignments, secure customer appointments within a local territory, and complete work on time.
• Evaluate businesses to identify hazards and improve safety, mitigating risks for insurance company clients.
• Survey commercial operations such as retail, restaurants, hotels, apartments, construction jobsites, churches, and schools.
• Assess businesses for Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, and Builders Risk coverage.

Requirements

• Preferred experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claims, loss control, underwriting, or fire and safety (though all candidates are encouraged to apply).
• In lieu of experience, a 15-hour online certification option is available to qualify.
• Must provide the following tools/items:

  • Computer

  • High-speed internet access
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Measuring device (e.g., laser, 100 ft. tape, or measuring wheel)
  • Auto and General Liability Insurance

Fees are negotiable depending on experience and the unique aspects of selected jobs.
