Commercial Installation Technician

Repairs and installs electrical protective burglar and fire alarm systems, closed-circuit television systems, access control systems, etc.

Guards and provides protection and safety on the client and employer's premises.

• Installs alarms, video, and access control systems.

Objectives

Serves, installs, inspects, programs, and repairs advanced fire alarm system panels, annunciators, control modules, monitor modules, signaling devices, initiating devices, communicators, etc.

Works with large commercial and chain accounts to resolve problems with burglar, fire, CCTV, and card access equipment.

• Proficiency with Notifier, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, and Honeywell fire alarm controls and devices.
• Serves, installs, and repairs CCTV equipment to include DVR’s, analog cameras, and IP cameras.

Experience/Skills/Education Required

• Minimum 2 years experience in the alarm industry or relatable repair and wiring of low voltage systems.
• Vocational or trade school courses in electrical, electronics, or communication systems preferred.
• Formal education in computer hardware, operating systems, and network and IP functions helpful.
• Climbing ladders at heights of 25 feet.
• Occasionally works in high or low-temperature areas.
