Responsibilities

  • Maintains Energy Management Systems and investigates alarms and out-of-spec situations.
  • Inspects buildings to determine airflow and ventilation requirements.
  • Responds to temperature complaints and discusses system malfunctions with users.
  • Operates refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment, and service gauges.
  • Installs wiring to connect components to electric power source.
  • Replaces or adjusts defective or worn parts to repair systems.
  • Cuts, threads, gas welds, and connects pipe to functional components of HVAC systems.
  • Reads and understands system blueprints, specifications, and performance data to determine configuration and purpose of system components.
  • Maintains, organizes, and controls inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all electrical and mechanical components of HVAC/R equipment.
  • Installs plumbing fixtures and components.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs plumbing system deficiencies.
  • Documents equipment repairs and Freon use/disposal per EPA regulations.
  • Aware of and operates within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies.
  • Available to work on an on-call basis.
  • Works independently and demonstrates initiative in servicing customers and maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance on building components.
  • Carries out assignments and instructions from supervisor(s) in a competent and efficient manner.
  • Performs manual physical labor, lifting and moving materials, furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Handles other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on HVAC, residential HVAC, or commercial HVAC maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and practical experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.

Qualifications

  • Valid HVAC-R Journeyman’s license.
  • EPA license.
