Commercial HVAC Service Technician

About the role

$2,000 signing bonus. Salary $65k–$70k/year based on experience with monthly productivity/profit-based bonus and overtime potential. Service area: Albany, NY. Employment contingent on satisfactory background check and negative drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning: verify CaptiveAire equipment operates as designed by testing airflows, reviewing installations, running automated tests via laptop, and performing physical equipment tests.
• Service & Repair: troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair commercial HVAC/R systems.
• Maintenance: develop, maintain and perform routine preventive maintenance on various commercial mechanical systems to ensure optimal efficiency and operation.
• Diagnostics: read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints and technical manuals to diagnose complex system issues.
• Customer Care: communicate clearly and professionally with facility managers, property owners and team members regarding system status, required repairs and maintenance recommendations.
• Compliance & Safety: strict adherence to EPA regulations and company safety standards at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience servicing commercial HVAC systems or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
• OSHA 10 certification (suggested).
• EPA Universal certification (suggested).
• Strong understanding of single/three-phase electrical systems; ability to read commercial wiring schematics and refrigeration cycles.
• Ability to lift independently up to 50 lbs., work on ladders/roofs, in tight spaces and in varied weather conditions.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, strong verbal/written communication skills and a safety-minded approach.
• Clean and professional appearance; company uniforms provided and required.
• New hire training requires a 1-week course at the R&D facility in PA; travel required.
