Commercial HVAC Service Technician

About the role

$2,000 signing bonus. Salary $60 – $80k/year based on experience with monthly productivity- and profit-based bonuses and overtime potential. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and a negative drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning of CaptiveAire equipment: verify operation by testing airflows, reviewing installations, running automated tests via laptop, and performing physical equipment checks.
• Service & repair: troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair commercial HVAC/R systems.
• Maintenance: develop, maintain and perform routine preventive maintenance on commercial mechanical systems to ensure optimal efficiency.
• Diagnostics: read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints and technical manuals to diagnose complex system issues.
• Customer care: communicate clearly and professionally with facility managers, property owners and team members regarding system status, required repairs and maintenance recommendations.
• Compliance & safety: strict adherence to EPA regulations and company safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial HVAC systems or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• OSHA 10 certification (suggested).
• EPA Universal certification (suggested).

Skills

• Strong understanding of single/three-phase electrical systems and ability to read commercial wiring schematics.
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycles.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and strong verbal/written communication.
• Safety-minded individual capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., working on ladders/roofs, in tight spaces and in varied weather conditions.
• Clean and professional appearance; company uniforms provided and required.

Training & Travel

• One-week new-hire training at CaptiveAire’s R&D facility in PA.
• Ability to travel required.
