Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Service Area: Long Island, NY. Salary $75 – $80 k/year based on experience. Monthly bonus based on productivity and profits; overtime potential. Employment contingent upon a satisfactory background check and a negative drug screen.

Responsibilities
- Commission CaptiveAire equipment by testing airflows, reviewing installations, running automated tests via laptop, and performing physical equipment checks.
- Service and repair commercial HVAC/R systems.
- Develop, maintain, and perform routine preventive maintenance on commercial mechanical systems to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Diagnose complex system issues using electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with facility managers, property owners, and team members regarding system status, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
- Strictly adhere to EPA regulations and company safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience servicing commercial HVAC systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 and EPA Universal certifications suggested.
- Strong understanding of single/three-phase electrical systems and ability to read commercial wiring schematics and refrigeration cycles.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently, work on ladders/roofs, in tight spaces, and in varied weather conditions.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, strong verbal/written communication, and a safety-minded approach.
- Clean and professional appearance; company uniforms provided and required.
- New hire training requires a 1-week course at the R&D facility in PA; travel required.
