Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician - Light Commercial

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the repair and overhaul of equipment, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation systems to meet customer needs.
  • Provide general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machines, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities by diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operating deficiencies to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.
  • Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Maintain legible records of work history.
  • Process job tickets, work orders to relevant departments in a timely manner.
  • Pick up, deliver, and install cases.
  • Support by performing minor construction and remodeling projects, including startups of new installations.
  • Drive company vehicles safely.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • EPA certification.
  • Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school is a plus.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of commercial refrigeration experience required.
  • Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with single systems and rack systems, along with previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes, is very helpful.
  • A good driving record is required.
  • Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. without assistance and to sit or stand for several hours at a time is necessary.
