Crystal Heating and Cooling has been serving the Greater St. Louis area since 1965. We are a Carrier President's Award-winning company and an employee-owned company through our ESOP. We are currently expanding our commercial division and are seeking an experienced HVAC estimator.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Commercial HVAC Plan and Spec Estimator to support our commercial construction opportunities. This role involves reviewing construction drawings, mechanical plans, and specifications, completing HVAC takeoffs, preparing detailed estimates, and coordinating with various teams.

What You'll Do

• Review commercial construction drawings, mechanical plans, and specifications
• Complete HVAC material and equipment takeoffs
• Identify project scope, requirements, and potential bid considerations
• Prepare detailed estimates for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracted work
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Review addenda and incorporate project changes into estimates
• Prepare accurate and competitive bid packages
• Maintain organized estimating documentation
• Coordinate with sales, project management, and operations teams
• Assist with project turnover after successful bids

What You Bring

• Commercial HVAC estimating, construction, or related industry experience
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications
• Experience completing takeoffs and preparing estimates
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment and systems
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn estimating software
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
• Ability to work in-office daily

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial HVAC and the ability to accurately understand project scope are our primary priorities
• Specific certifications are not required for the right experienced candidate
